by Luis Cuauhtemoc Berriozabal
In the broken concrete
thorns grew out.
The rose petals remained
deep in the earth.
An angel heart bled out
in the sky
above the thorns growing
from the earth. A
cloud emptied its tears and
let out a sigh
that shook the earth.
A wave of roses burst
out and the thorns
fell into the earth.
