by Lyn Lifshin
a little cave to explore
you come out happier
for having been there
with its beard around
the words you’ve been
wanting, a flower, rose
petals opening, hallway
you didn’t know had so
many different rooms,
all of them welcoming
you, a glove saying
very glad and shaking
sweet apricot half
with a moist place
for your tongue
a furry mouth with
its own tongue
space there’s
always more room
in as it gets
more crowded
